Instamart Seller Onboarding Service India

Required Documents, Product Information, Listing Process & Charges

To start selling products on Swiggy Instamart, the following documents, product information and business details will be required.

1. Seller / Business Details

The following basic information is required:

  • Email ID
  • Phone Number
  • GST Certificate
  • PAN Card – PAN should be mentioned in the GST certificate.
  • Trademark Certificate – Required for Brand Registry / brand approval.
  • Brand Logo

2. Brand Approval Requirement

For brand approval, we require a real/original product photograph captured using a mobile phone.

The product should be clearly visible, and the brand name and other important product details should be clearly readable.

How to capture the image:

  • Keep the product in your hand and take a clear photograph, OR
  • Keep the product on a table and take a clear photograph.
  • The photograph should be of the actual physical product.
  • The brand name and product details on the packaging should be clearly visible.
  • Avoid submitting only edited/mockup images for this purpose.

This photograph may be required for Instamart’s brand/product verification and approval process.

3. FSSAI Certificate – For Food Products

If you want to sell food products, an FSSAI certificate is required.

FSSAI licences/registrations can include:

  • State FSSAI
  • Central FSSAI

Our Recommendation

If you currently have a State FSSAI, we recommend checking whether you are eligible to obtain/convert to a Central FSSAI licence, particularly if you plan to operate or expand across multiple locations.

If you already have a valid Central FSSAI licence, that is preferable for broader operations.

*The applicable FSSAI category should ultimately be determined according to your business type, turnover, operations and current FSSAI requirements.

4. Product Information Required

For each product, the following information will be required:

Basic Product Details

  • Brand Name
  • SKU
  • Product Name / Product Details
  • Product USP
  • Ingredient List – applicable for relevant products
  • Product Weight
  • Product Dimensions

Packaging Details

  • Packaging Weight
  • Packaging Dimensions

Manufacturer Information

  • Manufacturer Name
  • Manufacturer Phone Number
  • Manufacturer Email ID
  • Complete Manufacturer Address

Accurate product information is important for catalogue creation, listing and approval.

5. Instamart Listing Fee

Instamart charges:

₹30,000 + 18% GST per product listing

Therefore:

  • Listing Fee: ₹30,000
  • GST @ 18%: ₹5,400
  • Total Payment: ₹35,400 per product listing

The listing payment is made during the listing activation process after the applicable review/approval stages.

6. Instamart Selling Location / City

For new sellers, Instamart generally provides Bangalore as the initial selling location, subject to Instamart’s current availability and approval.

This means that the seller’s own state/location does not necessarily determine the initial selling city.

For example:

  • Seller is from West Bengal → Instamart may provide Bangalore.
  • Seller is from Maharashtra → Instamart may still provide Bangalore.
  • Seller is from another state → Bangalore may still be the initial available location.

The final selling location/cluster is subject to Instamart’s approval and the options available in the seller account.

7. Warehouse Shipment / Inventory Process

The shipment process is broadly similar to the Blinkit process.

Once the selling location and warehouse are assigned:

  1. Instamart will communicate the required inventory quantity.
  2. Seller prepares and packs the required products.
  3. Products are shipped to the designated Instamart warehouse.
  4. The seller can use an appropriate third-party courier/logistics partner.
  5. Instamart receives and processes the inventory.
  6. Products are then distributed to the relevant fulfilment/dark-store locations.
  7. Once the required process is completed, the products become active and available for sale.

The initial inventory quantity can vary depending on the product, warehouse and Instamart’s requirements.

8. Instamart Advertising / PPC

Instamart also provides advertising opportunities through its seller advertising system.

The advertising concept is somewhat different from traditional Amazon or Flipkart PPC, but sellers can use the available advertising facility to increase product visibility and drive sales.

9. Advertising Wallet

As part of the listing activation payment:

₹30,000 + 18% GST is paid for the listing.

According to the applicable Instamart process, ₹25,000 from the listing amount is transferred/credited to the seller’s Instamart advertising wallet.

This advertising wallet balance can then be used to run advertisements for the seller’s products.

Example:

Listing payment:

  • Listing amount = ₹30,000
  • GST @ 18% = ₹5,400
  • Total payment = ₹35,400

After the applicable process:

₹25,000 → Advertising Wallet

The remaining amount and GST treatment are subject to Instamart’s applicable commercial terms.

10. Advertising Wallet Recharge

Once the advertising wallet balance is exhausted, the seller will need to recharge the wallet to continue running advertisements.

The recharge amount can be decided according to the seller’s advertising requirements.

Our Recommendation

We generally recommend a minimum recharge of approximately: ₹5,000

The advertising budget can be increased depending on:

  • Number of products
  • Product category
  • Competition
  • Sales target
  • Advertising performance
  • Required visibility

11. Agency / Account Management Fee

Our account management fee for Instamart seller account management is:

First Month

₹5,000 + 18% GST

From Second Month Onwards

₹3,000 + 18% GST per month

This is our minimum account management fee.

The same minimum fee applies even if the seller has approximately 5–6 products, subject to the agreed scope of account management services.
